Hi, I'm Amelia...

Becoming a mum is incredible – it shifts your world in the most meaningful ways. However with new priorities and constant demands, it’s easy to feel stretched, overwhelmed, and unsure of your next steps, caught between what you have to do, should do, and what you truly want to do.

When I became a mum, I knew how valuable coaching can be as a way to provide support, clarity, a safe-space and encouragement for mums through the different stages of motherhood – which was why I created TheMumCoach.com.  

My long-term goal is to create an affordable, accessible online solution for mums wherever they are and whatever stage of motherhood.  In the meantime, I love sharing valuable insights and content for mums, alongside offering tailored 1:1 confidence coaching to mums alongside my main business, Periscope Talent.

Why Work With Me

I am passionate about helping mums excel in their career and business ambitions; while also ensuring they thrive in their personal life and role as a mother.  

Before becoming a parent and my own career pivot into coaching, I gained over 20 years of experience recruiting a wide and diverse range of roles, seniority levels, and industries.  I have successfully helped founders and business owners build their teams and find key people to help them grow, including: Jimmy’s Iced Coffee, Love Corn & Rodial, The Coaching Academy, Bev James Management & Holly & Co (Holly Tucker, founder of Not on the High Street).  

I’ve interviewed hundreds upon hundreds of candidates and refined their CVs, and I’ve reviewed thousands of job applications – I know what makes a candidate stand out!   I have a proven track record of helping individuals secure jobs they love – even with companies where their previous applications were unsuccessful.  Additionally, with a degree in Marketing Communications, throughout my career I have also extensively involved, and hands-on, with marketing strategy, branding, editing, content creation & design. 

My recruitment and marketing career background, combined with being a certified NLP & DISC Practitioner and certified in Career, Confidence & Work-Life Balance Coaching, enables me to effectively support mums in building confidence and achieve their goals at all stages of their career or business.

My Coaching Approach....

My approach is primarily and foremost non-directive coaching, creating space for clients to explore their own ideas, thoughts, and solutions. Unlike mentoring, which involves offering advice based on personal experience, or consulting, which provides direct solutions, coaching empowers individuals to develop their own answers through self-reflection and exploration. It also differs from counselling, which focuses on past experiences and emotional healing, whereas coaching is forward-looking, helping clients gain clarity, overcome challenges, and take meaningful action.

As part of my programmes, separate to coaching, I also offer insights and techniques to support clients specifically in job search – such as proven interview techniques and effective CV presentation, as well as in branding and marketing techniques – such as ways to create a cohesive online presence and ensuring alignment across platforms. These are drawn from my extensive and hands-on experience in recruitment and marketing.   As a qualified NLP Practitioner, I don’t offer pure NLP sessions but selectively use well-established, mainstream NLP tools commonly applied in coaching – excluding hypnotherapy-based techniques.
